Social injustice Eng.

It is important for you to value social justice because it is a global problem not just problem in the U.S. problems of social injustice are racism, religion social standing and more people should be aware of these problems. We need to pay attention to social injustice nobody wants to feel left out or discriminated against something that they had no control over. Everyone should be given an equal fair chance to succeed in life. A few prevalent issues of today are religion and the abuse against women U.S. Studies show that in the U.S 3 women are killed a day by someone they had an intimate relationship with. Studies also show that women earn less money for doing the exact same job working the same hours as a men would a earn less money than they do. In some other countries women aren’t even allowed to attend school. I haven't heard much about religious problems in America but it's a major problem in the middle east and other countries. Thousands of people are being killed daily just because they aren’t a certain religion.

Staying happy Eng.

In a ted talk called “ Want to be happier? Stay in the moment ”  by Matt Killingsworth talks about how to become happier and to stay focused on what's going on in the present instead of the past. Killingsworth states that when you mind wander you become less happier than you would be if you were focusing on you task at hand. Killingsworth says this happened because when you mind wander we usually tend to think about our regrets and what we have done wrong in the past and start to frustrate ourselves and tell ourselves to become better. If we would stay focus on what's going on in the present we would become much happier. We will become happier because we're not regretting anything we are moving forward and enjoying ourselves as we are making progress on our work which is making ourselves proud and we start to strive to do better. Statics show that 47 percent of the time humans mind wander to prevent this all we can do is when we start to get off topic tell ourselves to focus. Killingsworth is trying to inform us on how we can stay happy and avoid becoming sad. I can use this in my day to day life to keep myself happy and keep striving to better things for myself.

The science of happinies Eng.

Gilbert in the speech “ The Surprising Science of Happiness” states some interesting findings that he has found. Some of these findings are why the human brain has nearly tripled in mass and also what synthetic happiness is. Gilbert states that the brain has nearly tripled in mass is because humans obtained and new feature in the front of our brain called the frontal lobe. The frontal lobe is an amazing feature the frontal lobe gives us important skills such as important cognitive like emotional expression, problem solving, memory, language, and judgment. The frontal lobe is basically the control panel for our personalities. I also learned about synthetic happiness and synthetic happiness is when you are really not happy but you are telling your brain that you are happy. We make synthetic happiness when we don't get what we wanted. An example of synthetic happiness would be if we were to go through a breakup in a relationship that we had been in for 5 years. When we start to tell ourselves that it doesn't matter i never wanted her or express the feeling that we are happier without her we are going through synthetic happiness. We don't really believe that we are trying to make ourselves believe this even though we know the truth on how we feel. Gilberts purpose is to inform people on what synthetic happiness and why the human brain has tripled is by explaining to us what it is so we are aware of it.

What makes you happy Eng.

What makes me happy is being able to do wrestling. I really enjoy wrestling I admire everything about the sport. Wrestling has also made me very successful in school and in my daily life. It has taught me to work hard, never give up and leadership skills. These skills that I have been thought in wrestling has greatly helped me in school and life. I do not struggle has much as I use to before I began to do wrestling. What I enjoy about the sport is the skills it has taught me and being able to travel and spend time with my teammates and my family. I believe that happiness is a feeling that is only able to get is by experiencing sadness. I believe this because how are you able to feel better if you haven't felt done. You are only happy because you have felt struggles in your life when those struggles are over you are able to feel the happiness. Happiness is very important it can keep you active and healthy with happiness you will become depressed. You may have suicidal or kill someone because you are unhappy and want to see them in pain. The secret to having happiness is having sadness once you become sad you now need something to be able to fill that sadness to be able to become happy. So many people are unhappy because they aren’t able to find something to fill their sadness.

Self-Control Eng.

I would say that I lack self control I have been working hard to improve. I'm not where i like to be yet but every day i'm working more and more to improve myself control. I would say that when i was younger my self control level would be a 3 out of 10. I would know say that myself control level would be a 5.5. I have improved a lot but I still have a lot more room for improvement. I am going to keep working on myself control until i'm a 10. I am trying to improve it by when i want something to make myself work for it. I want to win a C.I.F letter so i'm doing wrestling to earn it. Wrestling is a sport that will push me to my limits and bring the best out of me. You have to have great self control to wrestle and i'm using wrestling to build myself control. As I continue to wrestle I hope my self control will grow. I want to have better self control because I believe it will make me become more successful. I believe that it helps prepare me for college I am learning to do my work. Self control also helps with my wrestling when i'm on a diet I am learning to make better decisions. I am also learning better life decisions that will keep me safe.

Favorite Place Eng.

My favorite place would have to be the wrestling room. I really enjoy being in the wrestling room I enjoy the wrestling room because that is the place where I work the most. That is also the place where I have learned a lot other than learning in the classroom. In the wrestling room I learned leadership I also learned many other traits that will help me be successful in life. Anytime I get a chance to be in the wrestling I go. Being in the wrestling room keeps me in shape and anybody else that's in the room in shape. Wrestling's rooms are designed to make you lose weight. Their made to keep the heat inside so just being in the room will have you sweating. The coach will also turn the heater on to make it even hotter so while you're in their watching or exercising you will be sweating and losing lots of weight. The wrestling room is also where you can have fun with your friends and you can meet new people. I also enjoy the wrestling because while i'm in their I lose weight and become in better shape. It teaches me to never quit and to keep working. When I feel like giving up because of the heat I keep going. I enjoy to push myself I don't like to have anything given to me I like to earn it. In the wrestling room nothing is given to me I have to earn everything in their.

Life as a reader Eng.

My earliest memories of reading are when I was in the 5th grade. I use to hate to read any books or to read in general. I remember always asking my mom what something was because I wouldn't want to read anything. One day while I was in english class and we were getting books at the library my teacher showed me a book. The book was called Diary of a Wimpy Kid I checked the book out when I got back to class it was time to read. I didn't like the idea of reading the book I decided to read it anyways while I was reading the book I actually enjoyed the book. Since then I decided to began reading I have read the all the books from the Diary of a Wimpy kid series I am still reading the books as they are coming out with new books. Another series I have read is the Divergent series. Every since the 5th grade I enjoy I try to read at least two books a month. I am currently reading a book called Fear the Messenger it is an exciting book. I started off hating to read books but now I actually enjoy reading and try to read as much as possible. My favorite books are Divergent and The Scorch Trials. The book Fear the Messenger is a horror book and is a very chilling book. The book is very realistic and will have you trembling while you are reading.
